The Australian Institute of Company Directors is starting a new Director Nexus group in Geelong this week.

The Nexus group will meet once a month with thirteen initial members in a confidential forum, with myself as the chairman, to build our board skills and knowledge as practicing directors of companies.

The AICD is trialing this following the establishment of  successful groups in Melbourne and hopefully we can take the concept to other regional centres throughout Victoria.

Being a director of a company comes with many responsibilities and liabilities under the Corporations Act in Australia and this Nexus group will be a valuable vehicle to keep up-to-date and share ideas and issues encountered at board level.
